La Cooperativa San Pedrana’s Lote Colectivo has made quite a bit of history over the years. In 2001, this lot won an exporter-level competition which led La San Pedrana’s President, Don Timoteo Charuc Sian, on a trip to France where he got to promote his coffees directly to the consumer level. What an experience!
Then again in 2015, it was the first lot we ever got to cup and evaluate. It was fruity, sweet, and even hints of papaya. It showed us that there’s a hidden potential within the coffees in Yepocapa.
La San Pedrana’s Lote Colectivo is near and dear to our hearts. It’s a cooperative level coffee that encompasses coffees from the farmers in the region of Yepocapa; as long as the cherries are picked ripe, of course. It’s a lot that’s not exclusive and it gives an opportunity for farmers to receive a better price point for simply better coffee. Even though we love our Micro-Lots as well, we’re cognizant that they tend to be more exclusive and less impactful from a macro-level perspective. It’s for those reasons that we’re proud to offer lots that embody inclusion and opportunity while still offering straight-up good coffees!
