For generations, the Oviedo family has cultivated coffee at the foothills of the Poas Volcano. The rich soil combined with years of experience in environmentally friendly cultivating practices, make the varieties of coffee from this farm a treat to gourmet coffee lovers.
The artisan process leaves the natural honey on the beans, carefully drying them in the sun to maintain the unique qualities of this special coffee. El Greco entails years of labor to provide a cup that exceeds the expectations of coffee connoisseurs.
About the farmers
Education and family have been the cornerstones of this producer. His father a second-generation Coffee farmer, recognized the value of education and was smart to provide Rodrigo and his siblings with the opportunity to study and learn about coffee farming at the same time. A new generation of farmers is taking place to lead the efforts of their predecessors. Armed
with better education, Rodrigo and his family work hard to establish a more sustainable business model for their family coffee. Farming is hard work, however; if good varieties of coffee are nurtured with care and processed with traceability and quality in mind, the result is a special coffee worthy of fair prices, which in turn will ensure the long-term success of this new culture of coffee farmers.
