This is a very special coffee for us at Free Space Coffee. We are working directly with El Vergel estate and Santiago recommended Shady and his excellent washed process fermentation coffee. This is our first trade with El Vergel / Forest Coffee and we are proud to present to you this: a 100% Gesha varietal, a special washed process, a fermented coffee dried on raised beds and finished with machine precision to ensure proper screen size and uniformity.
The N is giving recognition to a special picker who had worked better than anyone else in the Gesha lot, his name is Norman. He was paid extra compensation for his hard work and has gotten this lot named after him! This coffee is by far our pride and joy, and we are elated to be able to share it with you!
We recommend brewing this coffee with a slightly finer grind and water at approx. 194 – 196F. In this complex coffee you’ll find notes of peach, jasmine, honeysuckle, high quality cacao notes (found in only the highest quality chocolates), sweet grape juice with a fresh rose petal finish. We are definitely recommending you treat yourself to a bag of this incredibly delicious coffee for a tasting adventure like no other.
One thing that we want to mention is that, like many of the other coffees grown in El Vergel Estate, this coffee serves to fund solutions to local social issues. We are setting aside 10% of the proceeds from this El Vergel Gesha to be reinvested in and used for improving the living conditions for the area community.
